-Jered Weaver returned from the DL and looked like his dominant self in the Angels 6-0 win over the Giants. Weaver, pitching for the first time since May 28, threw 78 pitches and allowed two hits over six innings of work.
-Jason Heyward smashed two home runs to lead the Braves to a 10-5 win over the Yankees but Atlanta received the bad news that pitcher Brandon Beachy, the NL’s leader in ERA, will undergo Tommy John surgery and will be sidelined for the rest of the year.
